Football Live Betting Rules
- For the proposition "What will the outcome of the next play be?":
- Any play declared 'no play' by the officials as the result of a penalty will be graded "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" and the risk amount returned to your account balance. Plays involving penalties that are enforced at the end of the play will be settled according to the official outcome of a pass or run attempt.
- If a punt or field goal attempt is made, the play will be graded "No Action."
- Interceptions and fumbles that are recovered by the defensive team will be settled as a "Turnover". If the offensive team loses the ball because of a turnover, but then regains the ball during the same play as a result of a fumble by the defending team, the play will be settled "Turnover" and both the series and the drive considered finished for betting purposes. If a turnover occurs on downs, the proposition will be settled according to the outcome of the play that was run on the 4th down. A turnover on downs will not be settled as a "Turnover". Safeties will be graded "Rush".
- Any pass completion that is considered an official pass completion as far as NFL statistics are concerned, and that is not fumbled and recovered by the defensive team, will be settled as a "Pass Completion".
- Any incomplete pass that is not intercepted, spiked or declared 'no play' will be settled as a "Pass Incomplete".
- Any rush attempt (including rushes for positive, negative, or no gain) and sacks and safeties (that does not result in a turnover) will be settled as a "Rush" for betting purposes.
- Safeties that occur due to a rush or sack in offensive team's end zone will be settled as a "Rush”. Safeties that occur due to a pass completion in the end zone will be settled as a "Pass Completion". Safeties that occur due to intentional grounding in the end zone will be settled as "Pass Incomplete".
- Plays by the offensive team where the quarterback kneels the ball down or spikes the football will be graded "No Action".
- For the proposition "Will the [TEAM] acquire a first down on this series of downs?":
- Any series that results in a new first down or touchdown by the offensive team will be settled as a "First Down".
- If the drive ends during the series as a result of anything other than a touchdown, the proposition will be settled "No First Down".
- If the offensive team punts the ball but regains the ball due to a turnover by the receiving team on the same play, the proposition is settled as "No First Down" and the series is considered finished for betting purposes and a new drive will then begin.
- All penalties assessed during the series of downs will count towards the bet.
- If offered on a play in which the offensive team kneels or spikes the football down, all wagers will be graded "No Action." This does not affect offerings on previous plays.
- For the proposition "What will the [TEAM] accomplish on this drive?":
- If a player on the offensive team runs or passes the ball such that the ball breaks the plane of the opponent's goal line while remaining in bounds, the proposition will be settled "Touchdown".
- If a player on the offensive team kicks the ball through the goal post uprights and over the crossbar, the proposition will be settled as a "Field Goal".
- If the offensive team turns the ball over on downs, has the ball intercepted by the defensive team, loses a fumble that is recovered by the defensive team, misses a field goal attempt, or has the time remaining in the half expire, the proposition will be settled as "No Score".
- If the offensive team punts the ball but regains the ball due to a turnover by the receiving team on the same play, the proposition is settled "No Score" and the series is considered finished for betting purposes and a new drive will then begin.
- If offered on a play in which the offensive team kneels or spikes the football down, all wagers will be graded "No Action". This does not affect offerings on previous plays.
- For the proposition "Where will the [TEAM] begin their drive after this kickoff?":
- The outcome will be settled at the spot on the field where the defensive team begins the next drive, except in the event that they return the football for a touchdown (all touchdown returns are settled "Over"). A return to the side of the over/under proposition that is closer to the kicking team's end zone will be settled as "Over" and a return to the side closer to the receiving team's end zone will be settled as "Under".
- If a kickoff occurs where the time elapses at the end of the 2nd or 4th Quarter without a drive beginning afterwards, the proposition will be settled according to wherever the football was returned to or downed.
- Any play declared "no play" by the officials will be graded "No Action" or "Push/Cancel".
- If the kicking team attempts an onside kick or a turnover occurs, the proposition will be settled "No Action" or "Push/Cancel".
- For the proposition "Where will the [TEAM] begin their drive after this punt?":
- The outcome will be settled at the spot on the field where the defensive team begins the next drive, except in the event that they return the football for a touchdown (all touchdown returns are settled as "Over"). A return to the side of the over/under proposition that is closer to the kicking team's end zone will be settled as "Over", and a return to the side closer to the receiving team's end zone will be settled as "Under".
- If a punt occurs where the time elapses at the end of the 2nd or 4th quarter without a drive beginning afterwards, the proposition will be settled as to wherever the football was returned to or downed.
- Any play declared "no play" by the officials will be graded "No Action" or "Push/Cancel".
- If no punt is attempted or the offensive team gets a first down or touchdown, the proposition will be graded "No Action" or "Push/Cancel".
- If the defensive team receives the punt but loses possession as a result of a fumble, the proposition will be graded "No Action" or "Push/Cancel".
- If a punt is blocked and the offensive team turns the ball over on downs, the play stands and will be settled according to where the defensive team begins their drive (likely settled "Over").
- For the proposition "Will this FG (Field Goal) attempt be successful?":
- The proposition will be graded "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" if no field goal attempt is made.
- For a field goal attempt to stand, a player on the offensive team must kick the football unless a penalty declares the down as "no play", which will be graded "No Action".
- For the proposition "How many total yards will [Team X] gain on their drive following this punt/kickoff?" to stand, the offense of [Team X] must take possession of the ball from the special teams of [Team X] following the punt/kickoff.
- For betting purposed, 'Drive' will be defined as the series of plays that begins from the first play from scrimmage until the point where the offensive team either scores or turns the ball over to the other team.
- If the offensive team attempts an onside kick, the proposition will graded “No Action".
- If no punt is attempted or the offensive team gets a first down or touchdown, the proposition will be graded "No Action" or "Push/Cancel".
- If the offense of [Team X] takes a knee on the first play of their drive, the proposition will be graded "No Action".
- All yards and penalties incurred during the return do not count towards the proposition.
- All penalties assessed on the drive once the kickoff/punt return is complete will count towards the bet.
- All offensive plays will count towards the bet, whether they be for a gain or loss of yardage.
- If the offensive team scores a touchdown, kicks a field goal, misses a field goal, punts, safeties, turns the ball over on downs, turns the ball over on an interception/fumble or time runs out in the half, the drive will be considered complete.
- If the offensive team turns the ball over by way of an interception or fumble, but then recovers the ball on the same play as a result of a fumble by the defensive team, the drive will be considered over for betting purposes; the drive length will be calculated based on the spot on the field where Team X lined up before the interception/fumble.
- For the proposition "How many yards will [Team X] gain on this drive?" to stand, the offense of [Team X] must break towards the line of scrimmage for the first play of the drive.
- For betting purposes, 'Drive' will be defined as the series of plays that begins at the time an offense takes possession of the ball until the point where they either score or turn the ball over to the other team.
- If the offense of [Team X] takes a knee on the first play of their drive, the proposition will be graded “No Action”.
- All yards and penalties incurred during the return do not count towards the proposition.
- All penalties assessed on the drive once the kickoff/punt return is complete will count towards the bet.
- All offensive plays will count towards the bet, whether they be for a gain or loss of yardage.
- If the offensive team scores a touchdown, kicks a field goal, misses a field goal, punts, safeties, turn's the ball over on downs, turn's the ball over on an interception/fumble or time runs out in the half, the drive will be considered complete.
- If the offensive team turns the ball over by way of an interception or fumble, but then recovers the ball on the same play as a result of a fumble by the defensive team, the drive will be considered over for betting purposes and the drive length will be calculated based on the spot on the field where Team X lined up before the interception/fumble.
- For the proposition "Which team will receive the opening kickoff?”: The proposition will be settled according to the data contained in the official play-by-play at NFL.com. Any wagers on the proposition deemed to have come in after the coin toss will be settled “No Action.”
- For the proposition "How many passing yards will [Player X] throw for in the [Half]?": The proposition will be settled according to the data contained in the official play by play at NFL.com.
- [Player X] must play in the listed half for the proposition to have action.
- All positive and negative yardage obtained by [Player X] in the given half will count towards the total yards of [Player X] for the listed proposition.
- Overtime counts towards all 2nd half propositions.
- Any play declared "No Play" by the official will not count towards the proposition.
- Penalty yards assessed during the half will not count towards the total yards of [Player X].
- For the proposition "How many rushing yards will [Player X] rush for in the [Half]?": The proposition will be settled according to the data contained in the official play by play at NFL.com.
- [Player X] must play in the listed half for the proposition to have action.
- All positive and negative yardage obtained by [Player X] in the given half will count towards the total yards of [Player X] for the listed proposition.
- Overtime counts towards all 2nd half propositions.
- Any play declared "No Play" by the official will not count towards the proposition.
- Penalty yards assessed during the half will not count towards the total yards of [Player X].
- For the proposition "How many receiving yards will [Player X] have in the [Half]?": The proposition will be settled according to the data contained in the official play by play at NFL.com.
- [Player X] must play in the listed half for the proposition to have action.
- All positive and negative yardage obtained by [Player X] in the given half will count towards the total yards of [Player X] for the listed proposition.
- Overtime counts towards all 2nd half propositions.
- Any play declared "No Play" by the official will not count towards the proposition.
- Penalty yards assessed during the half will not count towards the total yards of [Player X].
- For the proposition "Live Margin of Victory”: The proposition will be settled according to the data contained in the official play by play at NFL.com.
- Overtime counts for settlement towards this wager type.
- All bets that are placed after the play has started will be settled "Rejected" and all money will be refunded.
- If a coach successfully challenges the ruling of a play, any proposition for the upcoming play that were posted before the ruling will be graded "No Action".
- For the proposition “Highest Scoring Quarter”: Overtime is not included for wagers on the 4th quarter. Two or More Quarters to have equal highest score’ is an option for betting.
All disputes pertaining to proposition outcomes on NFL games will be settled by the data contained on the "Full Play-by-Play" page for the box scores listed at www.NFL.com/scores. For NCAA games, disputes will be settled by the "Full Play-by-Play" section of the box scores at http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/scoreboard. For NCAA games where play-by-play box scores are not offered by ESPN, disputes will be settled by the box scores at http://www.ncaasports.com/football/mens/scoreboard/. If neither is available, the final judgment on grading will be at the sole discretion of Bovada.
